How will sectors like oil, mining, steelmaking, electricity generation, transmission, and LNG adapt to a low emission future? By using the latest technologies to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) informs Canadians about protecting and conserving its natural heritage, and ensuring a clean, safe and sustainable environment for present and future generations. With our data, analysis, and policy recommendations, ECCC is developing an understanding of the greenhouse gas reduction opportunities across Canada’s energy industry. It will identify the measures, technologies and alternative energy sources, and combine this into the national strategy for fulfilling Canada’s commitment to net zero emissions.
Our ability to translate detailed information of the different technology options, and its application into the technical performance and economic outcomes for Canada, while considering the policy outcomes for First Nations people, remote communities, and northern climates, is what made our work a success.
ECCC can move forward with identifying the opportunities to reduce emissions in current and future energy projects, engage with stakeholders and key industry players, and move towards a net zero future.
