Andrew Sloley, a Principal Consultant at Advisian, is being honored at the 2018 AIChE Annual Meeting & 14th Global Congress on Process Safety in Orlando, FL, on April 23, 2018.
Andrew has played an important role in Distillation for the past 35 years. From his days at Glitsch to his current capacity, he has provided wonderful insights into tower design, practical equipment applications and refining knowhow. This session will honor Andrew's contributions to Distillation.
Andrew W. Sloley is currently a Principal Consultant at Advisian. Andrew has worked in process technology development and unit revamps at Exxon, Glitsch, and other consulting firms. His background includes major work on refinery black oil units including crude, vacuum, FCC, hydrocracking, delayed coking, and visbreaking as well as light ends units. His specialty is the area of distillation, product recovery, and heat-integration. He has authored over 200 papers and technical presentations in these areas. Audiences have included the National Petrochemical and Refiner’s Association, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. Publications have appeared in Hydrocarbon Processing, Oil and Gas Journal, Petroleum Technology Quarterly and others. He currently writes a monthly column on plant and process design and troubleshooting for Chemical Processing magazine. He is a graduate of the University of Tulsa and a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas.
